Chin Implants surgery is a minor surgery with minimal bleeding. Bed rest is not required and you can walk four hours after the operation.

 

Chin Implants can be placed with the incision from the inside of the mouth or under the chin. Your surgeon prefers to do it under the chin to reduce the risk of infection and to avoid any discomfort when eating.

How to prepare for Chin Implant?

You have a dedicated team of patient advisors, nurses, and your surgeon to support you throughout the entire journey, and after it. However, Chin Implant is a surgery that demands you to take several steps to help ensure that your treatment goes as smoothly as possible.   Avoiding some points can help you recover faster, and also minimize the risk of complications.

You must share relevant details about pre-existing and current medication that you have been prescribed with your surgeon. 

 

Smoking can cause harmful effects to the recovery process and therefore should be avoided at least three weeks prior to your surgery. It can also increase the risks of there being complications post-surgery. Electronic cigarettes, and any other type of tobacco products are also no permitted.

You must not take/consume any herbal supplements/teas.

 

Blood thinners should not be taken before surgery as they can increase the risk of bleeding during surgery.  Therefore, you are not permitted to take coraspin, aspirn, ecoprin, clexan, coumadin and more.   

 

Painkillers should only be taken within one week of surgery if the type you are using contains paracetamol. It is recommended you discuss this with your surgeon who can advise further. 

Last Night Before

Last Night Before

Chin Implants require anaesthesia so you are required not to eat or drink within eight hours of surgery, including drinking water, chewing gum or any other confectionery.

 

Showers are required within 12 hours for all surgeries to prevent unwanted bacteria from entering the hospital, so we kindly ask you to abide by these rules.

 

It is essential for you to shave entirely all facial hair.

You must not put on makeup on the day of surgery. Jewelry, accessories and contact lenses should be removed, too.

 

A comfortable set of loose-fitting clothes are recommended, and preferably, buttoned shirts if possible.

After the Chin Implant

It is a surgery with minimal bleeding and aesthetic operation with minor or no pain. After the procedure, you are expected to have mild pain. Most of our previous patients experienced this operation in our clinic, without feeling pain.
