Temporal Lift is a surgical procedure to shape and lift the temple in an upward direction to have more of a ‘cat-like’ appeal. When a patient combines temporal lift with Canthoplasty, this combined operation may be called as Cat Eyes.
The operation is purely to enhance one’s appearance, as this operation allows people to improve uneven or saggy skin. Additionally, shaping the temple this way is also viewed as attractive, younger-looking and exotic, with many female models around the world showcasing it.
Temporal Lift is a minor and superficial surgery. 4 hours after the operation, you can get up and start to walk, there won’t be any limits to your mobility. No bed rest required. Slight pain is expected. During temporal lift, spring threads in silicone or polyester structure can be used. In general, it is an operation that does not involve technical differences. The scar is almost invisible.
During the operation your eyebrow edges and temple area are lifted up with 3 or 4 cm incisions made in the temple. If it is combined with the Canthoplasty for Cat Eyes; your surgeon makes an incision up to 1 cm from the edge of the eyelid and place the lateral canthal ligament in the higher position.
You have a dedicated team of patient advisors, nurses, and your surgeon to support you throughout the entire journey, and after it. However, Temporal Lift is a surgery that demands you to take several steps to help ensure that your treatment goes as smoothly as possible. Avoiding some points can help you recover faster, and also minimize the risk of complications.
All previous medications you have been prescribed should now be shared with your surgeon.
Smoking is prohibited because it can slow down the recovery period, and increase your chances of post-surgical risks. Electronic cigarettes and other types of tobacco products are also prohibited.
Consuming herbal teas and/or supplements is now prohibited.
If you are using medication such as coraspin, aspirin, ecopirin, coumadin, clexan, or any other blood thinning medication, then you must stop at least 7 days prior to your surgery.
Painkillers that contain paracetamol are permitted, but without them are now prohibited. If you must take them, please inform your surgeon who will advise what course of action to take.
Please abstain from eating or drinking at least 8 hours before your surgery, and this also includes the intake of water, and chewing gum.
A shower or bath must be taken at least once before your surgery. Either the morning before, or before sleeping the night before.
Jewelry, makeup and contact lenses must not be present when having surgery.
We recommend you choose to wear clothes you feel comfortable in, and preferably, a dress shirt, although not essential.
It is a bloodless surgery and aesthetic operation with minor to no pain. After the procedure, you will have bruises on eyelids. However, you can cover them up with makeup after 1 week. For dry eye problems, patients can use artificial tears.
Tightness of the eyelids are likely for a few days after surgery. You may have some discomfort for one to two weeks.
If there are any sutures, they will be removed latest before your final check.
