DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) is a more advanced hair transplantation method where the hair follicles are removed from the donor part of the body one-by-one using the first-rate extractor, before directly being placed on the balding areas of the head.
Men of all ages can go through a process of losing hair, whether it’s male pattern baldness, lack of iron in the diet, stress, or an underlying health issue. The optimal result of this procedure is to regain thick, natural, and energized hair, and thus, restore confidence thanks to special pens the team using.
The team will apply Maximum Graft approach, which means, according to your hairline refinement, the team will collect the maximum graft to fully cover the related areas with a dense transplantation. To cover your areas, maximum grafts will be transplanted. Please note that after 3000 grafts removal in a single session of DHI Hair Transplantation, team needs to give a break. That’s the reason DHI Hair Transplantation is limited with max 3000 grafts in practice.
You have a dedicated team of patient advisors, nurses, and your surgeon to support you throughout the entire journey, and after it. However, this is a surgery that demands you to take several steps to help ensure that your treatment goes as smoothly as possible. Avoiding some points can help you recover faster, and also minimize the risk of complications.
It is essential you share all your medical history with your surgeon, including medications you have been previously and presently prescribed.
Smokers are no longer allowed to smoke within three weeks of surgery, including all tobacco products and e-cigarettes. Smoking can boost the chances of post-surgery risks and can delay the recovery period.
You must abstain from drinking herbal tea or consuming any form of herbal supplementation.
Blood thinning medication (i.e. clexan, aspirin, coumadin), is no longer permitted.
Painkillers not containing paracetamol are strictly prohibited. Your surgeon must be informed if they are a necessity. Regular painkillers with paracetamol can be taken.
Patients must not eat food or drink any type of beverages in the eight hours leading up to surgery.
Take a shower the day before your surgery or on the morning of your surgery.
Contact lenses are not permitted on the day of surgery. We also kindly ask you to not wear any makeup or jewelry, too.
Comfortable and loose set of clothes are highly advised. Surgeons tend to prefer buttoned-shirts although not essential.
Your Hair Transplantation will be carried out with the utmost care by your Hair Transplantation team and you can be sure that the same standard of care will continue during the regular post operative checks to ensure a smooth recovery.
The procedure may be conducted under local or general anaesthesia, depending on the size of the field of use. Post-anaesthetics discomfort is generally minor.
