Chin Implants, or Chin Augmentation, is a type of plastic surgery that will enhance and augment your jawline to improve facial balance for the perfect contour of the lower and mid-face area. The objective is to provide a pertinent projection of the chin, aligning it immaculately with other facial features.
If a patient is unnerved by a recessed chin, unhappy with an uneven proportioned face, or concerned by a potential larger (double) chin, then this operation can put those qualms to rest and give you a desirable and beguiling look.
Chin Implants surgery is a minor surgery with minimal bleeding. Bed rest is not required and you can walk four hours after the operation.
Chin Implants can be placed with the incision from the inside of the mouth or under the chin. Your surgeon prefers to do it under the chin to reduce the risk of infection and to avoid any discomfort when eating.
You have a dedicated team of patient advisors, nurses, and your surgeon to support you throughout the entire journey, and after it. However, Chin Implants is a surgery that demands you to take several steps to help ensure that your treatment goes as smoothly as possible. Avoiding some points can help you recover faster, and also minimize the risk of complications.
Inform your surgeon of all important details regarding medicines you have been prescribed before.
Smoking - including electronic cigarettes - is prohibited at this stage, as it can cause potential issues in the recovery period and pose other complications.
Herbal teas and supplements are now prohibited.
Coumadin, clexan, ecopirin, aspirin, coraspin, and other types of blood thinning medication should no longer be consumed.
Painkillers - without paracetamol - are now prohibited at this stage. If you require them, inform your surgeon immediately.
Prior to the operation, you must refrain from drinking and eating for at least 8 hours. Chewing gum and water (tap or bottled), are also prohibited.
Taking a bath or shower is compulsory on the night before your surgery, or the following morning before surgery.
You must not put on any type of makeup on the day of your surgery. Contact lenses must be removed and jewelry should not be worn.
Please wear comfortable clothing for your benefit, and, if possible, wear a button-up shirt for the surgeon’s convenience.
It is a surgery with minimal bleeding and aesthetic operation with minor or no pain. After the procedure, you are expected to have mild pain. Most of our previous patients experienced this operation in our clinic, without feeling pain.
