A Neck Lift has some similar approach like Face Lift, which is a medical procedure that tightens muscles and removes excess skin and fat but focuses solely on the neck and jaw area. The surgery will improve elasticity and gives the patient a youthful and revitalizing look.
It is common to have increased sagginess in the neck area as women age, and it can dent people’s confidence in their own appearance. A Neck Lift will counteract this aging process by reshaping the skin to the desires of the patient, whether that is removing vertical bands, lines and/or wrinkles.
An incision is made starting from the lower part of the ear and turning towards the back. From here, a beautiful neck angle is created by stretching the neck skin. The surgery is almost bloodless and is usually painless after surgery. Neck liposuction is usually added to this surgery. Sometimes it may be necessary to open under the chin and tighten the neck muscles. Sometimes it can be combined with spring thread methods to form a neck angle.
You have a dedicated team of patient advisors, nurses, and your surgeon to support you throughout the entire journey, and after it. However, Neck Lift is a surgery that demands you to take several steps to help ensure that your treatment goes as smoothly as possible. Avoiding some points can help you recover faster, and also minimize the risk of complications.
You must inform the surgeon of any relevant details about previous medications you have been prescribed.
You must not smoke – including e-cigarettes – for at least three weeks before your operation. Smoking can cause slower recovery time, and pose post-surgery complications which are common in Neck Lift operations. Any type of tobacco product is also prohibited.
Herbal teas, and any other type of herbal supplementation is now prohibited.
If you are using medication such as coraspin, aspirin, coumadin, clexan, ecopirin, or any other type of blood thinning medicine, then you must stop taking at least seven days prior to your surgery.
Painkillers are prohibited, with the exception of ones that contain paracetamol. If they do not contain paracetamol, then you must inform your surgeon before taking any more.
You must refrain from eating or drinking – including water – for at least eight hours prior to your operation. Chewing gum is also not allowed.
Taking a shower, or bath, is required on the night before, and/or the morning of the surgery.
You must not wear jewelry, or put on makeup on the day of surgery. Please remove contact lenses, too.
We suggest wearing comfortable clothing that is loose, and preferably, a buttoned-shirt for the surgeon’s convenience.
It is a bloodless surgery and aesthetic operation with minor to no pain.
If there are any sutures, they will be removed latest before your final check.
